ATLANTA, Ga. – Georgia Tech used a balance attack to pull away to a 102-49 non-conference win over Southeastern Louisiana in McCarnish Pavilion Wednesday night.

Irene Gari came off the bench for the Yellow Jackets (3-0) to score a game-high 24 points, going 11-for-11 at the free throw line. Aaliyah Whiteside added 21 points and Chelsea Guimaraes 11. Martine Fortune had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Guimaraes' and Fortune's points also came off the bench as the Georgia Tech bench accounted for 56 points.

Georgia Tech shot 41.7 from the field and scored 40 points off 29 Southeastern turnovers. The Jackets also out-rebounded the Lady Lions, 68-36.

Erica Hernandez had 12 points for Southeastern (0-3).
Taylin Underwood and
Gabriella Delaune each pulled down five rebounds.

"We played a very tough Georgia Tech team," Southeastern head coach
Yolanda Moore said. "They're long and they're athletic and we dug ourselves a hole in the first quarter and it was just hard to come out of. We had spurts where we couldn't score and they did. Rebounding was a challenge for us tonight and it's pretty much what it's going to be like for the next few games so we have to regroup and get ready for Texas Tech."

Southeastern travels to Texas Tech Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in the second game of a four-game road trip.

Hernandez gave Southeastern its lone lead at 3-2 with a 3-pointer with 9:32 left in the first quarter. A Whiteside layup with 8:49 remaining started a 10-0 run for Georgia Tech which ended with her hitting a 3 with 5:04 left. A layup by
Kyle Felton and an Underwood 3 were the only points for the Lady Lions over the next five minutes. Ciani Cryor drove in to make it 28-8 before with
Nanna Pool drove in at the buzzer.

The Yellow Jackets opened the second quarter on a 13-3 run to take a 41-23 lead on a Whiteside layup with 5:26 left in the half. The lead did not slip below 24 and grew to 29 at 3 by Antonia Peresson with 1:33 remaining. Georgia Tech led 52-24 at the half.

The Yellow Jackets went on a 32-4 run in the third quarter with a pair of free throws by
Bre Warren and a Hernandez jumper accounting for Southeastern's lone points. A three-point play by Guimaraes made it 84-28 going into the fourth quarter.
