LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana cross country squad returns to action Saturday at the 10th Annual ASICS McNeese Cowboy Stampede.
Held at Chennault Airpark, the race will feature college-level as well as high school and middle school competitors.
The women's college 5K race kicks off the event at 8:30 a.m. The college men will run a 4-mile race beginning at 9:15 a.m. followed by the rest of the amateur competition.
Southeastern joins Southland Conference foes Northwestern State, Nicholls and host McNeese State
in the college races, along with Louisiana-Lafayette, Grambling, Southern, Loyola-New Orleans and Texas Southern.

Harry Wiggins leads the squad into Saturday's race, having placed third last time out at the LSU Invitational.
Wiggins finished less than three seconds out of second in the men's 5K competition with a time of 15:41.35 and was named the Southland Conference's male cross country athlete of the week for his performance.
Other top finishers for the Lions included
Stephen Cassingham (15th, 16:41.77) and
Salvatore Grizzaffi(19th, 16:55.32).
Clarissa Smith set the pace for the Lady Lions, turning in a time of 19:43.68 to finish 14th.
Haley Gregoire finished 16th with a time of 19:50.94.
