NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana volleyball team swept past the University of New Orleans in three sets Tuesday, 25-23, 25-13, 27-25, at the Human Performance Center in Southland Conference action.
An efficient offense carried the Lady Lions to the win, snapping a seven-match skid. Southeastern (3-9, 1-0 Southland) recorded a .240 attack percentage and held UNO (5-9, 0-2 Southland) to .087 on the attack.
Southeastern fought off an eight-point rally by UNO to take the first set and carried the momentum over into a dominant attack in the second set (.450 team attack percentage).
Parrie Hartley (12 kills, .478 attack percentage),
Tiffany Thomas (nine kills, .444 attack percentage),
Veronica Turk (eight kills, .217 attack percentage) and
Morgan Miller (26 assists) paced the Lady Lion offense. Hartley (three),
Brooke Balser (two),
Sarah Friedman (two),
Landry Bullock (one) and Miller (one) all contributed service aces.
Bullock had a hand in three of Southeastern's four team blocks and
Morgan Todd led all players with 16 digs.
Cara Sander's 14 kills led UNO offensively. Sara Hammoutene (19) and Celeste Ramirez (11) each handed out double-digit assists. Mikayla Sellers-Wiebe (11) and Lauren Levy (10) topped the Privateers in digs.
Southeastern returns to action Thursday at the University Center, hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 7 p.m. in a Southland Conference match.
