Box Score HAMMOND, La. – Houston Baptist right-hander Curtis Jones tossed a complete game Sunday as the Huskies defeated Southeastern Louisiana, 7-1, at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field to claim victory in the series.
The two teams split a doubleheader Saturday with the Lions (16-11, 5-4 Southland) taking the first game, 13-6, and HBU (14-10, 5-4 Southland) winning the nightcap, 6-0.
Jones (2-1) and Southeastern starter, and losing pitcher,
Kyle Keller (2-2) each faced the minimum number of batters through the first three innings, but the Huskies chased Keller with four, two-out runs in the fourth.
The Huskies tacked on a pair in the seventh for a 6-0 lead.
Southeastern rallied for a run in its half of the seventh. Jones hit
Andrew Godbold with a pitch to open the inning before
Daniel Midyett,
Brett Hoffman and
Kyle Cedotal (RBI) produced three-consecutive singles. Cedotal enjoyed a 3-for-3 day at the plate, driving in the Lions' only run.
HBU got the run back in the eighth courtesy two Lion errors, a base hit to center and a fielder's choice ground out.

Southeastern wraps up its current six-game homestand with a pair of midweek contests, Tuesday against South Alabama and Wednesday against Alcorn State. Both games start at 6 p.m.
