HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana volleyball team dropped a three-set decision in Southland Conference play Thursday at Sam Houston State, 25-20, 25-21, 25-21.
Southeastern (9-16, 6-7 Southland) remains in seventh place in the conference standings. Sam Houston (17-9, 10-3 Southland) currently sits in third place, one game behind Central Arkansas.
Sarah Freidman led the Lady Lions offense yet again. The freshman from Houston, Texas, tallied 12 kills.
Elizabeth Ramee and
Rachael Bunn added seven kills each.
Mikayla Shippy handed out 31 assists.
Morgan Todd recorded 16 digs to lead Southeastern.
Deveney Wells-Gibson, a three-time conference player of the week, led all players with 17 kills. Jordyn Vaughn chipped in 10 kills. Michelle Griffith dished out 37 assists for the Bearkats. Claire Kilpatrick's 13 digs led Sam Houston.
Southeastern wraps up its road trip with a 1 p.m. conference contest, Saturday, at Lamar (4-21, 4-9 Southland). The Cardinals swept a three-set match Thursday from the University of New Orleans.
