HAMMOND, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University baseball coach
Jay Artigues announced Friday the Lions' Southland Conference-series finale against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, originally scheduled for Sunday, has been moved up a day as part of a doubleheader.
With rain forecasted for the Hammond area for the latter part of the weekend, Southeastern (26-16, 9-6 Southland) and the Islanders (23-17, 9-6 Southland) agreed to move the final game of their three game series to Saturday.
The finale is now slated to begin 45 minutes after the completion of Saturday's originally-scheduled 2 p.m. contest. Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field will be cleared between games and fans will need separate tickets for admission. Sunday's tickets will be honored for the series finale.
Take A Kid To The Game Day will still be in effect with all children age 12 and under admitted free to the finale with a paying adult. Roomie's Kid Zone, sponsored by Academy Sports and Outdoors, will be open weather permitting.
