TULSA, Okla. – Oral Roberts jumped out to an early lead Friday and held on for 6-2 Southland Conference win over the Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team.

The Golden Eagles (10-22, 5-5 Southland) scored five runs on five hits, including Chris Williams' fourth home run of the season, in the first inning. Williams three-run blast to left-center field wrapped up the scoring for the next four innings.

Southeastern (23-12, 7-3 Southland) managed just two hits off ORU starter Alex Gonzales (4-4), but one of them came in the sixth as the Lions loaded the bases with no outs.

Ladd Rhodes was hit by a pitch to open the sixth and Ben Hernandez drew a walk. Harry Slade slapped a single into left to load the bases for Sam Roberson. The Lion catcher hit a sacrifice fly to left-center, allowing Rhodes to scamper home from third with Southeastern's first run.

ORU answered with a run in the bottom of the inning to go back up by five, 6-1.

The Lions loaded the bases again in the eighth. Kyle Cedotal bunted for a hit to start off the inning before Rhodes and Hernandez drew back-to-back walks. Cedotal scored on Slade's double-play ground ball.

Junior right-hander Jason Greenleaf kept Southeastern close, relieving starter Sean Kennel (4-2) in the second inning. Greenleaf allowed one run on five hits in a career-high seven innings of work. He fanned four.

Gonzales earned the win, fanning nine in seven innings, and Kennel suffered the loss.

Saturday, Lion freshman right-hander Tate Scioneaux (4-0, 3.14) draws senior right-hander Drew Bowen (1-3, 3.77) at 2 p.m.
