HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University baseball team hosts No. 25-ranked South Alabama Tuesday for Faculty/Staff Apreciation Night at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The university's office of human resources and the Southeastern Alumni Association are co-sponsoring Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night, allowing university faculty and staff, as well as their family members, to purchase special $1 game tickets.
It is also Dinner at the Diamond for Southeastern students. Free food will be provided for the first 200 Southeastern students through the gates.
The game can be heard in the Hammond area on KSLU-FM (90.9), on the internet through the Southeastern athletics website, as well as on the KSLU iPhone and TuneIn Radio apps. Southeastern (14-6) swept a three-game series from Arkansas-Pine Bluff this past weekend. The Lions followed up
Harry Slade's walk-off, two-run home run in Saturday's 4-3 win with a 17-1 drubbing of UAPB. It was the most runs Southeastern has scored since April 13, 2010, in a 17-3 win over Alcorn State.
Slade continues to lead Southeastern at the plate with a .361 average, eighth-best in the Southland Conference. Junior third baseman
Jesse Buratt leads the club with five doubles.

Sam Roberson and Slade have each hit one home run while Haag leads the team with 18 runs batted in. Slade has swiped a team-best eight bases in 11 attempts.
Freshman left-hander
Kyle Cedotal (2-2, 4.67) receives the starting nod on the mound for the Lions. The Denham Springs, La., native will be opposed by Jaguar junior right-hander Matt Bell (3-0, 2.76).
South Alabama (17-4) is led at the plate by Jordan Patterson (.375), Bud Collura (.333) and Nolan Early (.307). Early leads the team with 10 doubles, while he and Patterson have each driven in a team-best 23 runs. Dustin Dalken has clubbed a team-high four home runs.
The Jaguars took two of three games this past weekend at Troy to open Sun Belt Conference play.
Southeastern returns to action at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Jackson State (10-10). The Lions open Southland Conference play Friday at Northwestern State.
