HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team closes out its 2012-13 road schedule on Saturday when it visits Sam Houston State in a Southland Conference contest at Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.

Southeastern (10-16, 8-7 SLC), which will wrap up the regular-season next week with home games against McNeese State and Lamar, looks to secure a first-round bye in the Southland Conference Tournament that is scheduled for March 13-16 in Katy, Texas. The Lions, who are currently in fourth place in the league standings and one game ahead of Nicholls State and SHSU (14-14, 7-8), look to snap a three-game losing streak after dropping a 78-64 decision at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday.

Roosevelt Johnson averaging 10.8 points while grabbing a team-high 8.4 rebounds. Junior
Dre Evans is next in scoring for the Lions at 9.1 points per game followed by
Jeffery Ricard (8.8),
Onochie Ochie (5.7),
Todd Nelson (5.2) and
Antonnio Benton (5.1).
SHSU dropped a 56-53 decision to Nicholls State on Thursday, the Bearkats' third straight setback and fourth in the past five games. James Thomas paced SHSU with 17 points and 10 rebounds with Paul Baxter and Will Bond adding nine points each.
Thomas leads SHSU at 8.9 points and 5.7 rebounds per game with Darius Gatson averaging 8.6 points. DeMarcus Gatlin (8.1), Baxter (7.3), Terrance Motley (6.8), Marquel McKinney (6.3), Nathaniel Mason (6.2) and Bond (6.0) are next in scoring for the Bearkats, who average 65.0 points per game while ranking second in the Southland Conference allowing 61.5 points.
