Box Score BATON ROUGE, La. – Southeastern Louisiana University rode a first-game victory over BYU Friday into a weather delay against No. 2 -ranked LSU at Alex Box Stadium.

In the first game of the day, Southeastern right-hander
Sean Kennel hooked up in a pitcher's duel with BYU right-hander Adam Miller (0-2) and the game remained scoreless into the eighth inning.
A one-out single by Adam Law, the son of former major leaguer Vance Law, chased Kennel. Jaycob Brugman chopped an infield single off Lion reliever
Matt Pittari to put runners on the corners. The Lions brought
Dylan Hills in to face Brock Whitney, but he hit a deep fly ball to center scoring Law for the lead.
Southeastern jumped right back on the Cougars.
Sam Roberson led off the eighth with an infield single.
Ladd Rhodes sacrificed him to second and
Corey Bryan moved him to third on a groundout.
With two outs,
Jesse Buratt singled up the middle to tie the game.
Harry Slade followed with a sinking line drive to left field. Freshman left fielder Jacob Hannemann dove for the ball and it rolled past him to the wall for a go-ahead triple.
Right-hander James Lengal replaced Miller and the Lions took advantage. Slade broke for the plate on a steal attempt and
Aaron Haag laid down a last-second bunt. Slade scored and the throw to first was too late to get Haag.
Jameson Fisher followed up with an RBI double, driving in Haag to complete the scoring.
Hills (1-0) picked up the win in relief while Miller suffered his second loss in as many starts.
