DENTON, Texas – The Southeastern Louisiana men's basketball team dropped a 75-61 decision Saturday at the Super Pit to North Texas.

Southeastern (3-3) continued its early season trend of strong second halves, but could not overcome the 14-point lead the Mean Green built by halftime. Trailing 41-27 enterring the second half, the Lions got as close 10 points (49-39) on a Devonte Upson layup with 15:26 remaining.

The Lions were 21-of-61 from the floor (34.4 percent) and just 3-of-18 from three-point range (18.8 percent). North Texas (5-3) out-rebounded Southeastern 45-37 in the contest and, at 25-of-56 from the floor, had a better night shooting the basketball (44.6 percent).

Onochie Ochie led the Lions in scoring for the second time this season, pumping in 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor. JaMichael Hawkins poured in 14 points, contributing double-digit points for the fifth time this season, and led Southeastern with seven rebounds. Upson, a junior center, added 12 points to the Lion offensive effort.

Alzee Williams led four North Texas players in double-digit scoring with 18 points. Jordan Williams recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Chris Jones added 14 points. Keith Coleman chipped in 10 for the Mean Green and Colin Voss led all players with 12 rebounds.

Southeastern continues its road trip Tuesday at Arkansas with a 7 p.m. tipoff before returning home to host Southeast Missouri State, Dec. 7, at 11:30 a.m. in the University Center.
