HAMMOND – Senior right-hander
Josh Janway tossed a career-high 7.2 innings of scoreless baseball Sunday and Southeastern Louisiana scratched across a single run in the sixth inning to finish off a series sweep of Eastern Illinois with a 1-0 victory.
Brock Hebert led off the sixth inning with a double past the third baseman and moved to third on a
Ben Hernandez sacrifice bunt. A fielding error by Panther pitcher Andrew Grahn allowed Hernandez to reach and chased Grahn from the game. Lion center fielder
Harry Slade greeted reliever Adam Clark with a single to left field. Hebert scored from third giving the Lions (7-0) the lead.
Southeastern's Janway efficiently dispatched Panther hitters with his fastball and an assortment of off-speed pitches. He entered the eighth inning having thrown just 71 pitches in the game. Janway allowed just three hits and walked only one while fanning seven.
Jason Greenleaf came out of the bullpen to record the final out of the eighth inning on a single pitch and
Stefan Lopez picked up his fourth save of the season by striking out catcher Jacob Reese to end the game.

Grahn picked up the loss for Eastern Illinois (1-4) despite allowing just one run on three hits in his five innings of work.
Southeastern travels to Tulane Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. game at Turchin Stadium.
