Box Score NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Antonio Bostic scored a game-high 15 points and Stephen F. Austin held Southeastern Louisiana to 3-for-16 shooting from the floor in the second half to pull away from a three-point halftime lead and post a 63-36 Southland Conference victory Saturday night at Johnson Coliseum.
Desmond Haymon added 11 points as SFA (8-7, 2-0 SLC) shot 59 percent (13-for-22) from the floor in the second half and 23-for-43 (54 percent) for the game. The Lumberjacks led 26-23 at halftime before outscoring Southeastern (5-8, 0-2 SLC), 37-13, in the second half.
Southeastern, which finished 14-for-38 (37 percent) from the floor, led by as many as seven points in the game on a layup by
DeShawn Patterson with 11:34 remaining in the first half.
SFA rallied to take 16-14 lead on a 3-pointer by Haymon with 5:32 remaining and the Lumberjacks took the lead for good, 20-19, when Haymon made the first of two free throws at the 2:12 mark.
Roosevelt Johnson led the Lions with eight points while
Jeremy Campbell added seven.
Donovan Ross added six points off the bench for Southeastern while
Jan Petrovcic added four.
Southeastern will return to action on Tuesday when it plays host to Champion Baptist in a 7 p.m. contest at the University Center.
