One lucky student will have the opportunity to take a half court shot for $10,000.

HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team returns to action on Wednesday when it plays host to Southland Conference rival Central Arkansas at the University Center.

Tipoff is at 7 p.m. The game can be heard on the internet only at www.LionSports.net.

Southeastern Athletics and the Southeastern Campus Activities Board (CAB) will partner to bring all Southeastern students the annual “Jam the Jungle” game. The first 200 students will receive a free t-shirt and students will receive free food as available. One lucky student will also have the opportunity to take a half court shot at halftime for $10,000.

The first 500 fans will be entered in a draw down raffle for a grand prize of $200 cash. One hundred fans entered in the raffle will receive a free t-shirt, while 20 fans will win vouchers for Top Cat courtside seats. To show their Lion pride, Southeastern fans attending the game are encouraged to wear green.

Southeastern (7-10, 1-4 SLC) looks to get back in the Southland Conference race after a disappointing 55-53 loss to archrival Nicholls State on Saturday. The loss was the Lions' first at home on the season and in nine games dating back to the 2010-11 campaign. The Lions, who have gone 3-7 without leading scorer Brandon Fortenberry in the lineup, have averaged 60.0 points per game on the season while ranking third in the league in scoring defense (61.8).

Junior forward Roosevelt Johnson, a former Destrehan High product, is Southeastern's top scorer (9.9) and is fifth in the Southland Conference in rebounds (7.5). Elgin Bailey (8.2), Daron Populist (8.1), DeShawn Patterson (6.4) and Jeremy Campbell (6.2) are the other top scorers for Southeastern.

Patterson, whose 154 career steals are second in school history behind Hank Washington's 169, is third in the Southland Conference with 34 steals this season while ranking fifth in the league in assists (56, 3.3 avg.). Populist, who transferred to Southeastern after two years at LSU, is third in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage (.453) after making 29 of 64 attempts from behind the arc.

UCA (7-10, 2-3 SLC) had its two-game winning streak snapped on Saturday as it fell to visiting Lamar, 92-78. Since improving to 4-3 after an 83-81 overtime victory over former Gulf South Conference rival Henderson State, the Bears have dropped seven of their last nine games.

LaQuentin Miles is second in the Southland Conference in scoring (16.5) while leading UCA in rebounds (5.4). Mark Rutledge (8.9), Jordan Harks (8.7), Robert Crawford (8.6) and Jarvis Garner (8.5) are next in scoring for UCA, which is fourth in the Southland Conference in scoring offense (75.5) and has 11 players averaging 10 or more minutes per game.

Southeastern leads the all-time series between the schools, 8-2, with both teams winning on its home floor last season. UCA won the opener between the schools in Conway, 62-59, before the Lions rebounded for a 74-63 victory in the University Center.
