HOUSTON – Lauren Sears recorded 10 kills and Sarah Jane Bowden added nine as Southern Miss defeated Southeastern Louisiana, 25-17, 25-12, 25-15, in the final day of the Houston Baptist Husky Classic on Saturday at Sharp Gym.

Halie Ecker added eight kills for USM (6-6), which hit .379 for the match. Kelsea Seymour led the Golden Eagles with 35 assists with Lisa Knecht adding a team-high 12 digs.

Freshman Elizabeth Ramee led Southeastern (4-12) with six kills while Courtney Donald added five. Lindsey Young, who was named to the All-Tournament team, led Southeastern with 19 assists while Megan McMillin led the Lady Lions with 14 digs.

Southeastern will return home to face Louisiana-Lafayette on Tuesday in a 7 p.m. contest at the University Center.
