HAMMOND – Fans attending Southeastern's 2011 football opener on Saturday at Tulane in the Louisiana Superdome are invited to attend a tailgate party hosted by the Lion Athletics Association.

A “Tailgate” caravan will meet Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot adjacent to the Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field before departing for New Orleans at 11. The first 30 cars to arrive will receive free Southeastern car flags.

The tailgate party will take place on the upper level of Garage 1 at the northeast corner of the Superdome from noon – 2:15 p.m. Food and drinks will be provided and fans are encouraged to bring their favorite tailgating dish.

All Southeastern fans attending the game – the second consecutive year the intra-state rivals have opened the season against each other – are encouraged to wear gold.
