LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Philipp Westermann overcame a sluggish first round as he fired a 2-under-par 70 in the second to lead the Southeastern Louisiana University golf team at the UALR/First Tee Collegiate Classic at Chanel Country Club.

Tuesday's final round begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.

Southeastern battled cold, blustery conditions in the 17-team event and recorded a team score of 302 in the first round before carding a 294 in the second to finish in an eighth-place tie with UMKC. The Lions, who battled back from a six-shot deficit to win last year's event, were 10 shots behind co-leaders Southern Miss and Missouri heading into the final 18 holes.

Westermann carded a 6-over-78 in the opening round before posting the Lions' best round of the first two rounds to finish in a 22nd-place tie at 148. Cedric Scotto posted rounds of 74 and 75 to finish in a tie for 29th place with Horacio Leon (74-76-150), Daniel Zuluaga (76-78-154) and Rhys West (81-73-154) next.

Senior Rasmus Astrand, competing as an individual, carded a 36-hole score of 162 (85-77).
