Averaging rounds of 74.20 in his sophomore year, West stepped up to appearing in 12 tournaments (35 rounds of golf) … best outing came under national limelight in the 2010-11 NCAA Florida Regional Tournament, recording a solid 5th place finish (73-65-70-208) and posting a career-low round score of 65 … Golfweek.com featured West in a column due to his outstanding showing at the NCAA Regional Tourney and near shot to clinch a berth to the NCAA Championship Tournament.

2009-10
Appeared in three events as a freshman, recording a 75.44 average ... earned a spot on the Lions' five-man lineup at the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate (80-75-77-232) ... best finish came at the David Toms Intercollegiate where he posted a 216 (73-69-74) competing as an individual.

AMATEUR
The 2006 South African Junior Golfer of the Year and a two-time junior champion ... ranked in 2006 second among the top junior U-18 golfers in South Africa with a 68.88 stroke average ... captured the U-16 South African Boy's Stroke Play championship in 2005 and was named U-19 South African Boy's Stroke Play champion the following season ... a winner on the Ernie Els Junior Tour and represented his native country in the Junior World Championships last year in Japan ... finished second overall at the Northwest Open Amateur Championships, shooting a three-round score of 202, including a 64 in the final round.
