HAMMOND – Anthony Miles scored a game-high 16 points, including six free throws in the final 50.8 seconds, and Lamar snapped Southeastern Louisiana's 13-game homecourt win streak in a 57-52 Southland Conference game Wednesday at the University Center.

Stan Brown posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds as Lamar (11-14, 5-6 Southland) outscored Southeastern (12-11, 6-5 Southland), 34-25, and handed the Lions their first loss at home since an 84-79 setback to Sam Houston State on Jan. 16, 2010.

Southeastern took a 50-49 lead after Roosevelt Johnson scored on a layup with 1:08 remaining before Miles was fouled on the Cardinals' next possession.

Lamar, which was 3-for-11 from the free throw line heading into the final minute, took the lead for good at 51-50 when Miles sank a pair of free throws after being fouled by Brandon Fortenberry.

After Southeastern's Trent Hutchin missed a 3-pointer on the Lions' next possession, Miles added a second pair of free throws for a 53-50 lead and Charlie Harper drained a pair of free throws with 9.8 seconds for a 55-50 advantage.

Lamar trailed 27-23 at halftime before opening the second half with a 7-3 run to tie the game on Coy Custer's layup with 17:36 remaining in the game. Hutchin gave Southeastern a 32-30 lead with a baseline jumper, but the Cardinals went on a 10-2 run capped by a 3-pointer by Donley Minor for a 40-34 cushion.

Southeastern would answer as Gary Dixon scored back-to-back baskets for a 45-42 lead before Lamar countered with a layup and 3-pointer by Mike James that would give the Cardinals a 47-46 lead with 4:58 left.

David Ndoumba led Southeastern with 15 points and 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. Ndoumba also blocked four shots as Southeastern held Lamar, the league's top scoring team (84.6 points per game), to 21-for-50 from the floor and 4-for-13 from behind the 3-point line.

Deshawn Patterson added 10 points for the Lions while Dixon added nine. Southeastern, which was averaging 88.1 points in seven game on its home floor, finished 18-for-47 from the floor and 2-for-12 from behind the 3-point line.
