Lady Lions Face In-State Rival Nicholls State

Southeastern Continues Southland Road Trip

HAMMOND – The Lady Lions continue life on the road as Southeastern travels to Nicholls State Tuesday for a Southland Conference contest.

First serve is set for 7 p.m. with live statistics and a video feed, courtesy of Nicholls State, available at www.LionSports.net. Southeastern faces the Colonels for the second time this season.

Southeastern (4-21, 0-8 Southland) dropped a pair of matches last week to Texas-San Antonio, 3-0, and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 3-0.

At the midway point of the Southland slate, Paige Dollison leads the Lady Lion hitters (2.48 kills per set) in conference play. She is followed by Courtney Donald (2.42 k/set), Kinsey Williams (2.09 k/set) and Elizabeth Ramee (1.89 k/set). In conference play, Southeastern is averaging 11.63 kills per set as a team.

Megan McMillin is ninth overall in the Southland with 3.45 digs per set.

Nicholls (15-9, 2-6 Southland) also dropped a pair of road contests last week. The Colonels forced a fifth set at TAMU-CC and fell in three straight to UTSA.

NSU is led by Jennifer Brandt (2.51 k/set), Kathryn Stock (2.22 k/set) and Rachel Yezak (2.17 k/set). The Colonels have the third-highest hitting percentage, .218, and second-most blocks per set, 2.24, overall in the conference.

The Lady Lions face Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas, Saturday before returning home to face Lamar, Oct. 27, at the University Center.
