HAMMOND – After completing a two-game Southland Conference roadtrip, the Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team returns to its home floor on Saturday when it faces East Division leader Northwestern State in a 7:30 p.m. contest at the University Center.

Southeastern (8-9, 2-3 Southland), which is 5-0 at home and has won 11 straight games dating back to last season, dropped a 66-52 decision at Nicholls State last week before falling at Central Arkansas, 62-59. The Lions went 0-for-12 from behind the 3-point line against UCA, snapping a 95-game streak with at least one 3-pointer.
The Baton Rouge tandem of
Trent Hutchin and
David Ndoumba pace Southeastern in scoring at 14.8 and 10.3 points respectively.
Hutchin, who prepped at Woodlawn, is tied for Southland Conference lead with 2.6 3-pointers made per game and is eighth in the league in scoring. Ndoumba, a Christian Life Academy product, leads the Lions with 6.9 rebounds per game and is second in the Southland Conference with 2.1 blocks.

Jason Marks (4.9) are next in scoring for Southeastern, which averages 68.8 points per game while allowing 68.1.
Northwestern State (12-9, 4-2 Southland) has won four of its last five games, including road contests at UCA and Lamar. The Demons opened league play with an 84-71 loss at Texas State before their current streak that includes wins at home over Nicholls and McNeese State.
Will Pratt leads Northwestern State in scoring at 17.9 points per game – third in the Southland Conference – while Devon Baker is second on the team and ninth in the league at 14.4.
Louis Ellis (8.3), William Mosley (7.5), Shamir Davis (7.5) and Dominic Knight (6.0) are part of a deep lineup that has 11 players averaging 10 or more minutes per game and is third in the league in scoring offense (77.7).
Mosley, the national leader in blocked shots with 101, is fourth in the Southland Conference with 8.1 rebounds per game. The junior notched a double-double against Lamar, pulling down 12 rebounds and blocking 10 shots (while scoring two points).
After facing Northwestern State, the Lions will return to the road for their next two games beginning Wednesday at Lamar. Southeastern will close out the road swing on Feb. 5 when it faces Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas.
