PARKING INFORMATION:

Please see the color key and the parking map for information. The Athletic Department asks that fans that have reserved parking follow the plan and its rules to ensure a great game day experience. Please do not park or drive on any sidewalks or grass areas. Vehicles must park in spaces as directed by traffic control personnel and utilize only one space. Parking hangtags must be displayed on the rearview mirror of the vehicle at all times. Southeastern is not responsible for lost or stolen hangtags.

Reserved parking lots will open six hours before kickoff. Recreation Vehicles with the proper permit may begin to arrive at 5:00 pm on the evening prior to game day and must contact Campus Police at (985) 549-2222 when they arrive to ensure they are correctly parked.

Vehicles will enter Lot A from West Dakota Street, Lot B from North General Pershing onto Western Avenue, Friendship Circle from Oak Street, and Lot C from West Dakota. Galloway Drive is reserved for Emergency Vehicles and Game Day Athletic Staff. All other parking areas not listed are open to the public.

For those football fans requiring handicap parking, a state tag must be present on the vehicle and the holder of the handicap permit must be in the car. Space is limited and available on a first come first serve basis. Handicap parking is located off Western Avenue in parking Lot B. Vehicles must enter Western Avenue from General Pershing for Handicap parking access. Once these handicap spaces are filled, patrons will be responsible for finding handicap parking at other locations.

ALCOHOL POLICY:

Athletic events provide an avenue for Southeastern Louisiana University to meet its core values of excellence, community, diversity, and learning. In support of these values, athletic events should be conducted in an environment that is safe and enjoyable for all.

As home football games have great potential to attract many spectators, many of whom also attend to participate in tailgating activities, the following policy has been developed for these events.

1. Although tailgating will be permitted on campus, certain areas may be designated for specific groups.
2. Consumption of alcohol will be limited to persons of legal age (21 or greater).
3. Tailgating will be limited to home football games only. For home games that occur during a regular school day, tailgating activities will be allowed after 5:00 p.m. For home games that occur on Saturday, tailgating will be allowed starting at 5:00 p.m. the night before the game.
4. All glass containers of any kind and cans are prohibited. Whatever is consumed must be poured in a paper or plastic cup.
5. No oversized or common source containers of any type (including but not limited to kegs, punch bowls, beer balls, party balls) are permitted.
6. Drinking games, funneling or any other activity deemed by the University as inappropriate is prohibited.
7. Individuals(s) or groups engaging in inappropriate or disruptive behavior will be directed by law enforcement personnel to cease and desist from doing so.
8. Alcohol cannot be brought into the stadium and all persons entering the stadium are subject to a reasonable check/search of personal bags, purses, coats, etc. Anyone found in possession of alcoholic beverages and/or other items deemed dangerous or inappropriate by the University will be refused admission to the game. Any individual found in possession of said items will be evicted from the stadium and will not be allowed to reenter the stadium for the remainder of the calendar day on which the game is held. Alcohol may be purchased inside the stadium by those of legal age with valid identification.
9. Cups, containers, ice chests, etc. may not be brought into the stadium.
10. Failure to follow these rules and regulations may result in eviction from campus with possible University, local, or state action to follow.

TAILGATING CONDUCT:

Individuals, groups, and organizations hosting or participating in tailgate parties are responsible for their own conduct and are expected to respect the rights of others and the entire University community. Groups hosting tailgate parties are responsible for providing their own designated drivers. Please be respectful to others around you and remember this is a family atmosphere.

At its discretion, the University may terminate or take other appropriate action against individuals, groups, or organizations whose conduct at tailgate parties are irresponsible, unreasonable, or inconsistent with University policies and regulations, ordinances, and laws. Individuals or groups engaging in inappropriate or disruptive behavior will be directed by law enforcement personnel to cease and desist from doing so. Failure to follow these rules and regulations may result in eviction from campus with possible University, local, or state action to follow.

TAILGATING FOOD AND BEVERAGES:

The Southeastern Policies and Procedures Manual authorizes consumption of alcoholic beverages at Friendship Circle and other events on the Southeastern Campus, authorized by the President. No organization, business, or individual, except the University's licensed vendor, may sell beer or other alcoholic beverages on campus in conjunction with Southeastern home football games. Consumption of alcohol will be limited to persons of legal age (21 or greater). No oversized or common source containers of any sort (including but not limited to kegs, punchbowls, beer balls, party balls) are permitted. Drinking games, funneling or any other activity deemed by the University as inappropriate is prohibited. Glass containers of any kind are prohibited. Alcoholic beverages must be consumed from a paper or plastic cup.

Please limit the distribution of food and drink to your party only. Companies may not issue sample products without being properly licensed by the University. No organization, business, or individual, except the University's licensed vendor(s), may offer any food or non-alcoholic beverages for sale (including donations). Caterers will not be permitted to enter reserved parking lots or Friendship Circle without proper parking permits. If you are making arrangements, please verify that the caterer has obtained the valid parking permits through the Athletics Ticket Office.

Restrooms are available for tailgate participants in Pottle Hall and McGehee Hall.

TAILGATING TENTS:

Tents should be no larger than 10' x 10' and may be erected on game days only. Tents should be taken down within three hours after the game ends.   Please use sandbags or weights to secure your tent. Tent stakes are not permitted as they can damage electrical, gas, plumbing, and irrigation lines buried underground.

TRASH AND FLAMMABLES:

The University conveniently places receptacles for the disposal of trash and other items throughout the campus. Help us keep Southeastern beautiful by disposing of your trash.  Charcoal must be disposed of properly to prevent fires. The University will place metal receptacles for proper disposal of charcoal. Please do not place charcoal or other flammables in trashcans, under trees, or leave it in the parking area.

DISPLAY OF SIGNAGE OR PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS:

Banners and signage recognizing businesses may not be displayed, nor may promotional materials be distributed without prior approval of Southeastern Athletics. Only businesses and companies, which have corporate partner agreements with Southeastern Athletics, may display their signage in their assigned tailgating area.

Companies interested in information on becoming a Corporate Partner should contact the Southeastern Athletics Department at (985) 549-3495.

POLITICAL ACTIVITY AT HOME FOOTBALL GAMES:

Southeastern Louisiana University recognizes the rights of individuals and groups granted by the Constitution for political activity; however, the University reserves the right to establish reasonable conditions regarding the time, place and manner in which they may be exercised. For home football games, the University seeks to balance these rights with its obligation to manage vehicular and pedestrian traffic as well as other game related activities not only to provide for the safety and security of fans but to eliminate or reduce activities that significantly detract from fans' enjoyment of the event.

An application to assemble publicly must be made a minimum of seven (7) days in advance with the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, Jim McHodgkins. Questions and further information regarding the political activities and registration should be directed to the Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs at (985) 549-3792.
