THIBODAUX – Courtney Donald tied a career-high with 14 kills while
Paige Dollison posted her second double-double of the season with 10 kills and 14 digs, but Southeastern Louisiana dropped a hard-fought 22-25, 25-20, 20-25, 24-26 decision to Nicholls State in the Southland Conference opener for both teams Friday at Stopher Gym.

Alex Greer added 13 digs to become the 10th player in Lady Lion history to record 1,000 digs in her career while
Arianne Cruckshank had 42 assists for Southeastern (8-7, 0-1 Southland), which concludes the Nicholls Challenge on Saturday with matches against Louisiana Tech (10 a.m.) and Houston (2 p.m.).
Rachel Yezak and Jennifer Brandt had 14 kills each to lead Nicholls (8-3, 1-0 Southland) while Jessica Addicks added 12. Jordan Karst notched a double-double for the Lady Colonels with 42 assists and 10 digs while Brandt and Yezak each posted double-doubles with 14 and 10 digs each.
Danielle Daigle led all players with 21 digs.
Donald, who hit .367 at the net (14-3-30), posted five blocks to lead Southeastern with Cruckshank,
Rhiannon Cheeks and Dollison adding two each.
Allison Jones added seven kills for the Lady Lions, who hit .158 for the match, while Greer added a pair of service aces.
