BATON ROUGE –
LSU's Anissa Young had two home runs and drove in five to lead the No. 16 Lady Tigers to an 11-0 win over Southeastern Louisiana Wednesday afternoon at Tiger Park.

The Lady Lions fell to 3-6 overall with the loss. Senior Chelsea Takacs, junior Heather Grivas and sophomore Jordan Logan all collected hits for the Lady Lions. LSU improved to 8-4 on the year.

LSU jumped on top with six runs in the bottom of the first. Rachel Mitchell and Young scored runs off Southeastern sophomore starter Vicki Honeycutt (1-1). Lauren Houston, Jessica Mouse (two-run single) and Kirsten Shortridge got into the act off Southeastern sophomore Katelyn Thomason to take the early lead.

The Lady Tigers padded their lead in the bottom of the second inning. Courtney Hollier and Anissa Young each homered to highlight a three-run inning that put LSU up, 9-0. Young's homer off freshman Elise Kittrell in the bottom of the third pushed the Lady Tiger advantage to 11-0.

Southeastern's only threat came in the top of the third, as Logan and Grivas singled to give the Lady Lions runners at first and second with one out. LSU pitcher Brittany Mack (2-2) recovered to retire freshman Michelle Duhe and junior Katie Duhe to keep Southeastern off the scoreboard.

Southeastern will return home next Tuesday, opening Southland Conference play with a 5 p.m. doubleheader versus Nicholls at North Oak Park.
