JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Gary Dixon scored 11 of his team-high 18 points in the second half and Southeastern Louisiana used a balanced attack to pull away and defeat Jacksonville State, 74-66, Monday night at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

Roosevelt Johnson each scored 10 points for Southeastern (2-1), which used a 11-0 run in the second half to erase a 53-51 deficit and earn its first road win of the season.
Rodney Jones and
Brandon Fortenberry added nine points each for the Lions, who made 25 of 31 free throws in the game including 16-for-18 in the second half. Johnson, a sophomore from Norco and former Destrehan High product, grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds to notch his first career double-double.
Jacksonville State (1-3) took its biggest lead of the game at 53-51 when Jeremy Bynum drained a 3-pointer from the left wing with 7:15 remaining before a three-point play by Ndoumba gave Southeastern a 54-53 lead it would not relinquish.
Ndoumba, who added nine rebounds, added two more free throws before six straight points by Jones gave the Lions a 62-53 lead.
Nick Murphy led JSU with 18 points while Stephen Hall added 16. The Lions held the Gamecocks to 42 percent from the floor (23-for-55) and held a 38-29 advantage on the boards.
Southeastern will return to action on Saturday when it plays host to Loyola of New Orleans in a 3 p.m. contest at the University Center.
