JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Southeastern Louisiana University men's basketball team returns to action on Monday when it visits Ohio Valley Conference member Jacksonville State in a 7 p.m. contest at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

Southeastern (1-1) returns to action for the first time after dropping a 92-56 decision at UNLV on Wednesday. The Lions, who will host Loyola on Saturday, look to defeat JSU (1-2) for the second consecutive season after claiming a 77-73 win in the University Center last year.
Trent Hutchin leads Southeastern in scoring at 19.5 points per game followed by
Gary Dixon and
Brandon Fortenberry at 10.5 each. The Lions have averaged 11.5 3-pointers in their first two games with Hutchin going 10-for-19 to lead the team.
Rodney Jones (8.0) and
Roosevelt Johnson (7.5) are next in scoring for Southeastern, which has averaged 73.5 points in its first games while allowing 68.5.
David Ndoumba paces the Lions on the glass averaging six rebounds per game while
Deshawn Patterson (4.5 apg), Fortenberry (3.5) and
Jason Marks (3.5) lead the team in assists.
JSU looks to get back in the win column after dropping road games last week at Norfolk State and VMI. The Gamecocks opened the season with a 79-58 win over Division II West Alabama on Nov. 13.
The Gamecocks have been led by Nick Murphy who is averaging 18.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
