HAMMOND – Allison Jones recorded a team-high 12 kills to lead Southeastern while
Alex Greer tied a season-high with 18 digs, but that was not enough as Northwestern State rallied from a three-point deficit in the first set to earn a 26-24, 25-19, 19-25, 25-22 Southland Conference victory Thursday at the University Center.
Megan Manning had a match-high 15 kills, including two in a five-point rally that saw Northwestern State (13-15, 4-11 Southland) erase a 24-21 deficit in the first set. Southeastern, which will host East Division champion Central Arkansas (25-7, 14-1 Southland) in the season finale on Saturday at 1 p.m., fell to 10-22 overall and 1-14 in league play.
Laranda Spann added 15 kills and five blocks for Northwestern State, which finishes the season on Saturday at Nicholls State. Lauren Peltier recorded 45 assists and 15 digs for the Demons with Brittany Fruge tallying a match-high 25 digs, former Fontainebleau High product Jessica Guttierrez 17.
Freshman
Stephanie Mueller added 11 kills and three blocks for Southeastern, which hit .140 for the match and collected nine blocks.
Arianne Cruckshank had 39 assists and eight digs for the Lady Lions while
Taylor Buckner posted 10 digs and former Northlake Christian product
Monica Raymond eight.
Southeastern will honor Jones, Greer and three-year letterwinner
