LADY LION VOLLEYBALL HEADS TO JAGUAR CLASSIC

Southeastern Volleyball Looks to Climb over .500 against Jackson State, South Alabama

HAMMOND -  After picking up its first home win of the year on Tuesday, the Southeastern Louisiana women's volleyball team (2-3) head to this weekend's Lady Jaguar Classic in Mobile, Ala. looking to continue the play that has seen the Lady Lions win two of their last three matches.

Up first for the Lady Lions is a Friday afternoon match against Jackson State.  Southeastern heads into the contest with a chance to get to .500 before a Saturday morning match against host South Alabama.

While Southeastern is eager for a rematch with South Alabama, who beat the Lady Lions in Hammond 3-1 on Aug. 30, Langford and her crew are not over looking Jackson State.

"We want to come out and have a strong showing this weekend," head coach Julie Langford said.  "Our team is a lot more confident and competitive than we were even in the first week of the season, so we're anxious to see South Alabama again.  But first we need to focus and get things done against Jackson State on Friday.  We'll be focusing on trying to improve our consistency and intensity and put together a full match, and we hope to see some more results this weekend."

The Lady Lions will start the Jaguar Classic off with a 4 p.m. match against Jackson State on Friday before facing a quick turnaround and taking on South Alabama at 11 a.m. on Saturday.  Live stats for both matches will be available on www.LionSports.net.
