Lions Fall Short To Unbeaten Red Raiders, 74-63

Southeastern returns home to face Dillard on Saturday

LUBBOCK, Texas – John Roberson scored a game-high 20 points and Alan Voskuil added 18 as unbeaten Texas Tech overcame a first-half deficit and rallied past Southeastern Louisiana, 74-63, Tuesday night at United Spirit Arena.

D'walyn Roberts added 13 points for Texas Tech (5-0), which entered the game averaging 108.2 points per game with its lowest output coming in its season opener in an 81-47 win over St. Francis (Pa.).

Southeastern (1-3) trailed by nine in the first half before a strong run gave the Lions a 36-31 lead. Southeastern led, 38-37, at the break before the Red Raiders came out and outscored the Lions, 37-25, in the second half to pull away with the win.

Freshman Brandon Fortenberry led Southeastern with 13 points, going 5-for-10 from the floor and 3-of-4 from 3-point range. Warrell Span added a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds while Chris Cyprian added 10 points.

The Lions finished 26-for-69 from the floor (37.7 percent), but went 11-for-33 in the second half. Texas Tech was 12-for-22 from the floor in the second half (54.5 percent) and finished 26-for-55 for the game.

Southeastern will return to action on Saturday when it plays host to Dillard in a 3 p.m. contest at the University Center.
