Davis eclipsed the school record in the shot put by 1.6 feet in taking fifth with a mark of 51-07.75 at the Texas Relays on Saturday. That mark leads the Southland Conference and ranks 18^th in the East region and 29^th nationally. It came against a field that included nine of the top 30 throws in the nation in 2017, including three of the top five.
