After helping the Southeastern Louisiana softball team to its deepest Southland Conference Tournament run in school history, Lady Lion senior Mahalia Gibson was named to the Southland Conference All-Tournament team.Gibson led SLU with a .500 batting average and five RBI over the five games. She had three multi-hit games in the tournament and hit a game-tying home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to keep the Lady Lions alive on the way to a 7-6 elimination game win over Sam Houston State. The third-team All-Southland Conference performer’s tournament performance capped a great senior season for Gibson. The Hattiesburg, Mississippi native set a new single-season school record with 59 RBI to go with 12 home runs and 11 doubles.
