Jeremy White, entering his sixth season as the 13th head coach of the Lady Lions, is rapidly becoming one of the most successful in the program's history. He enters the 2024 season with an 87-53 record as the leader of Southeastern's volleyball Pride, just five wins away from moving into second place on the career coaching wins list. The Vidor, Texas native begins the 2024 season holding a .621 win percentage while at SLU, which would be the best in program history, and is the reigning Katrinka Jo Crawford Southland Conference Coach of the Year & Louisiana Coach of the Year. With those awards from the 2023 campaign, White is now a two-time winner of the Katrinka Jo Crawford Award from the SLC & a three-time winner of the Louisiana Coach of the Year Award from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. The successes achieved under White's leadership have not been seen in Hammond in two decades prior to his hiring on Dec. 12, 2018, including back-to-back Southland Conference Tournament Championships in 2022 & 2023 as well as the SLC's regular season title in 2023. All of those championships are the first won by the Lady Lions since joining the Southland Conference for the 1997 season, and the two automatic berths to the NCAA Division I Championship Tournament earned by winning the SLC Tournament are SLU's first NCAA Tournaments berths in its history as well.

White led Southeastern to arguably the best season in its history in 2023 as the Lady Lions tied a program record with 28 wins, had a program record 22-match win streak, picked up true road wins at LSU and at a Texas State team that was receiving votes in the top 25 poll at the time of the match, had the program's best record in Southland Conference play at 17-1 while winning the program's first SLC regular season title and followed that up by winning the SLC Tournament and clinching an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament. He was named Louisiana's Coach of the Year by the LSWA and the Southland Conference's Katrinka Jo Crawford Coach of the Year for his efforts while several of his players won individual honors as well. Kailin Newsome was named Louisiana's best player for the second-straight season by the LSWA and earned an All-Region nod from the American Volleyball Coaches Association as well as an All-Conference honor. Rachel Hartmann was named the Newcomer of the Year in both the SLC and the state. Gracie Duplechein earned a spot on the All-Louisiana team while Cicily Hidalgo found a spot on the All-Conference team.

He led the Lady Lions to the top of the Southland mountain in the 2022 season as the team won the program's first-ever SLC Tournament Championship, doing so on its home floor, and automatic berth to the NCAA Division I Championship Tournament. The 25-8 record represented a 16-win turnaround for the Lady Lions which had won nine games a season before. Kailin Newsome was named the Tournament's MVP . Newsome and Cicily Hidalgo loaded up on awards during the season with both being named All-Conference and All-Louisiana while Newsome added a state Player of the Year honor from the LSWA to her ledger as well as an AVCA All-Region selection. White earned his second career Louisiana Coach of the Year award as well.

In his first indoor season at Southeastern, White engineered one of the biggest turnarounds in the nation as he helped guide the Lady Lions to a 12-win improvement over the 2018 season. Picked to finish dead last in the Southland Conference preseason poll, he brought Southeastern back to the conference tournament for the first time in three seasons after leading the Lady Lions their most overall wins since the 2004 season and most conference wins since 2014.

Middle blocker Jodi Edo earned both All-Conference and All-Louisiana honors for her performance during the 2019 season.

White backed up the turnaround effort with another stellar product during a delayed 2020 season, ending Stephen F. Austin’s 42-match winning streak during conference competition and guiding SLU to the No. 3 seed in the Southland Conference Tournament.

Freshman outside hitter Kailin Newsome was named both the Southland and Louisiana Freshman of the Year. Middle blocker Crispin Adams joined Newsome in picking up All-Conference honors. Newsome, Adams and Ansley Tullis combined to win five conference player of the week awards.

For his efforts, White as named the Southland’s Katrinka Jo Crawford Coach of the Year.

Returning to the Southland Conference Tournament for the third consecutive season in the fall of 2021, SLU was led once again by the conference freshman of the Year. Cicily Hidaldo became the second Lady Lion in as many seasons to earn the honor. She also earned AVCA South Region Freshman of the Year honors. Hidalgo was joined on the All-Conference squad by Karlee Wilkerson.

The 2020 beach season, the first in program history, was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic after just three duals. The 2021 season produced the first wins in program history despite spending the entire campaign dealing with double-roster issues caused by simultaneous indoor and beach competition.

At Northwestern Oklahoma State, White (38-25) led the Lady Rangers to the two best seasons in school history, producing seven All-Conference selections and a Great American Conference Newcomer of the Year. The winningest coach in program history, he guided Northwestern to back-to-back appearances in the GAC Tournament. The Lady Rangers have maintained a team GPA over 3.0 throughout his tenure.

In his first season at the helm of the program, White engineered a 16-win improvement, finishing the year 20-10 overall. With a fourth-place regular season finish in the Great American Conference, the Lady Rangers advanced to the conference tournament for only the second time in six seasons. For his efforts, White was named state Coach of the Year by the Oklahoma Sports Network.

Before Northwestern, White spent one season as the top assistant at Lamar State College in Port Arthur, Texas, and two more as the recruiting coordinator at fellow Southland Conference-foe McNeese.

While at McNeese, White helped guide the Cowgirls to back-to-back appearances in the conference tournament. He coached three All-Southland performers, two of which – Malina Sanchez (2015 Louisiana Player of the Year) and Bridget Justis (2016 Louisiana Libero of the Year) – also earned top honors from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association.

White has several years of both club and high school coaching experience, the most prominent being a stint as head coach at Barbe High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

From 2011 to 2013, White led the Lady Bucs to an 81-28 record, three-straight District 1-5A Championships and back-to-back appearances in the State Quarterfinals (2012 and 2013). During his tenure at Barbe, White was a three-time district Coach of the Year who produced 16 all-district athletes, two district MVPs, two All-State athletes and two state all-stars.

A fixture in Texas and Louisiana club circles, he was a club director and coach for eight years, with multiple club teams across both states. Many of the players he trained and coached at the club level went on to play collegiate volleyball after playing in his system.

Still an active athlete, White has continued his playing career both indoor as a middle blocker and outside hitter, and on the beach circuit where he's won multiple tournaments at the Open/AA level.

A two-time graduate of McNeese, White earned a bachelor's degree in health and human performance in 2008 and completed his masters in exercise physiology in 2016. He is married to the former Sarah Lyons, a Lake Charles native. The couple has two children, son Karter James and daughter Maggie Cate.
