An experienced coach on both the collegiate and high school level, Levar Willis is in his first season as an assistant coach on head coach Yolanda Moore’s staff.
Willis spent the 2013-14 season with Moore at LSU Eunice. The pair helped the Lady Bengals to a 26-3 record in their first season at the helm, leading LSU E to its first-ever Miss/Lou Conference Championship. Prior to his time at LSU E, Willis was the lead assistant at St. Francis High School, where he helped lead the team to Georgia Class A State Championship.
Other stops along the way for Willis, included stints at Clark Atlanta, West Virginia Tech, Atlanta Metropolitan College and Brandon University, as well as the W.P. Celtics AAU basketball program. During his tenures at West Virginia Tech and Brandon, his squads won conference championships.
During his career, he has recruited 17 all-conference performers, including one All-America selection. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Morris Brown College in 2004, before completing his master’s in athletic coaching education at West Virginia in 2009.
