Prior to Southeastern: Prepped at St. Thomas Aquinas Regional Catholic High School in Hammond... Was a three-sport athlete for the Falcons where he played football & baseball along with basketball... Captained the basketball team to its first district championship in five years while advancing to the semifinal round of the LHSAA State Playoffs... Averaged 15 points & six rebounds per game on his way to earning All-District Second Team honors in the year they won the district championship... Biggest sport thrill was clinching the district championship with a win in a game that went four overtime periods... Was also a member of the National Honor Society, BETA Club, & Student Council.

Personal: Born Dec. 10, 2003 in Ponchatoula... Son of Corey & Cally Berner... Has a younger sister named Carly... His dad played baseball for Nicholls State in the 1990s.
