Mark Lieberman

Lieberman enters his third season as associate head coach for the SLU men's basketball team.

Lieberman joined the Southeastern men's basketball coaching staff prior to the 2019-20 season with an impressive resume coaching under former Louisville head coach Rick Pitino from 2010-2012. Lieberman helped guide Louisville to a 25-10 record in 2011 and an appearance in the 2012 Final Four before falling to Kentucky.

The New York, New York native, was hired by Pitino's son, Richard, at Florida International for the 2012-13 season. FIU finished the season 18-14 and advanced to the Sunbelt Conference Tournament Championship game.

Prior to his stint in Louisville, Lieberman was a successful high school coach for 16 years. He guided Monsignor Pace to five Florida state championships (including one as an assistant), three runner-up finishes and 10 total Elite Eight appearances while compiling a 335-95 record in 13 seasons.

He was honored as the Florida High School Athletic Association Coach of the Year on three occasions (2003, 2007, 2008) and twice served as the head coach of a high school all-star game, including the 2008 Derby Festival All-Star game in Louisville and the 2009 McDonald's All-American Game played in Miami.

Lieberman earned a bachelor's degree in communications from FIU in 1995. He has a daughter, Emery.
