Alex Hausladen

Alex Hausladen, a native of Milwaukee, Wis., and former assistant at Christian Brothers University, is in his fifth season as an assistant coach on the Southeastern coaching staff.

A practitioner of advance analytical statistics, Hausladen's primary responsibilities include scheduling, scouting, recruiting, serving as the compliance liason as well as coaching and academic support.

During his tenure, the Lions have had five All-Southland Conference players, four All-Louisiana players, three National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District players and made three trips to the conference tournament.

Prior to his arrival in Hammond, Hausladen spent two seasons at CBU, helping the Bucs to a two-year record of 47-17, the 2009 South Region championship and a pair of NCAA Division II Tournament berths. During his stint at the Memphis school, Hausladen coached one first-team All-America selection, four All-Region selections, the 2009 South Region and Gulf South Conference-West Division Player of the Year. He also recruited a GSC Freshman of the Year.

In Hausladen's final season at CBU, the Bucs posted a 25-7 record in 2008-09 and led Division II in scoring defense allowing 56.2 points per game.

Before his position at CBU, Hausladen spent one season at the University of the Ozarks, an NCAA Division III school in Clarksville, Ark. At Ozarks, he coached post players in addition to film exchange, recruiting and scouting. One of the players he signed was named to the American Southwest Conference All-Freshman team and was a two-time member All-ASC squad, finishing his career as one of the top three-point shooters in school history.

Hausladen graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. While in Fayetteville, Hausladen spent four seasons on the men's basketball staff under Stan Heath. He was Head Student Manager for his final two seasons, including the team's trip to 2006 NCAA Tournament, and also served as the Razorbacks' Video Coordinator - working with future NBA player Ronnie Brewer, the 14th-overall pick in the 2006 draft by the Utah Jazz.

Hausladen has coached at numerous summer basketball camps across the country, including Arkansas, Arkansas State, Harding, Kentucky, Lipscomb, Marquette, Maryland, Memphis, Wake Forest and Wisconsin.

He completed his Master of Education degree from CBU in December of 2008. Hausladen attended Marquette University High School in Milwaukee, where he spent three seasons as a student assistant coach.
