Dwight Tillman is in his second season with the Southeastern football coaching staff as an assistant coach. Tillman works with the team’s cornerbacks.
In 2016, Tillman saw both of his starting cornerbacks earn All-Southland Conference honors. Both senior Will Hines and junior Torrance Mosley were selected among the league’s elite following their first season under Tillman’s tutelage.
Tillman came to Hammond after spending the 2015 season as defensive coordinator at Randallston High School in his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to that he was the defensive backs coach at Baltimore’s Franklin High School, where he was a part of consecutive Class 3A state championships.
Tillman’s relationship with Southeastern head coach Ron Roberts dates back to his time as a player at Delta State, where he was coached by Roberts in 2010 and 2011. A two-year starter, Tillman tallied 88 tackles and intercepted four passes during his time with the Statesmen. As a senior, he was a second team All-South Region selection.
Tillman earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Delta State in 2012.
