2017: Played in nine games as a backup quarterback for the Lions … Completed 19-of 36 passes for 355 yards with seven touchdowns and two interceptions … Also rushed for 142 yards on 36 carries … Threw for a season-high 199 yards and a touchdown on 7-of-9 passing to go with a season-high 44 yards on six carries in a 49-21 win over Lamar … In a three-game stretch that saw the Lions defeat Incarnate Word, Houston Baptist and Abilene Christian, he was 8-for-8 for 212 yards and five touchdowns … Tossed two touchdowns versus both UIW and ACU … Also threw a five-yard touchdown in 21-17 victory over Nicholls.

High School: Dual-threat quarterback earned Class 5A honorable mention all-state recognition as a junior at Sulphur High School … Participated in the inaugural I-10 bowl pitting top high school players from the Lake Charles area versus the top prospects in Lafayette … Earned second team All-District 3-5A as a senior … Threw for 2,886 yards and 27 touchdowns while rushing for 1,252 yards and 20 touchdowns in his final two seasons at SHS.
