2013 (Junior): Logged the second-most innings (69.2) on the staff, starting in 10-of-14 appearances … compiled a 6-3 record and 3.49 ERA … strike-throwing right-hander walked just 13 batters (1.7 BB/9) … allowed two runs or less in first six starts … earned wins against Texas Southern (3/1), Hartford (3/9), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (3/15), Northwestern State (3/22), McNeese State (5/16) and Lamar (5/25) … worked career-high eight innings in victory over Hartford.

2012 (Sophomore): Compiled an 0-1 record with a 9.82 ERA in five appearances, one start … suffered the loss in start at Tulane (4/17) … turned in a pair of scoreless relief outings against Alcorn State.

Junior College: Lettered one season at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College … earned a 6-5 W-L record with a 3.56 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 55 innings pitched as a freshman … earned MGCCC’s Cy Young award … redshirted sophomore season.

High School: Began and finished career at Northshore High School … second team All-District as a sophomore and first team All-District as a junior at Pope John Paul High School … won a 5A state championship as a senior at Northshore HS.

Personal: Born in New Orleans, La. … the son of Brian and Gina Kennel … has an older brother, Brian, and two sisters, Gabrielle and Haley … majoring in Mathematics.
