E.L. "Ned" McGehee led Southeastern to its first-ever perfect season as head coach of the 1946 football team that finished 9-0. McGehee coached the Lions on the gridiron for five seasons and was a long-time Athletic Director for Southeastern retiring in 1971. He also served a head coach for baseball and men's tennis.
