Biography

2009 (Junior): Appeared in six games out of the bullpen for the Lions … posted no record with a 9.95 ERA in 6.1 innings pitched … tossed a scoreless inning against eventual national champion LSU … recorded a season-high 1.2 innings with a strikeout against Mississippi Valley … allowed one hit with a strikeout in one inning against Sacred Heart … pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout against Jackson State.

2008 (R-Sophomore): Did not play while recovering from a knee injury.

2007 (R-Freshman): Saw limited action, making three appearances ... Allowed two earned runs in his debut, but held the opposition scoreless and allowed just one hit and no walks in his final two outings.

2006 (Freshman): Redshirt season.

High School: A two-year letterwinner in baseball at Fontainebleau High School where he helped the Bulldogs to a pair of Class 5A playoff appearances … coached as a senior by former Lion letterwinner and assistant coach Stephen Labbe … played one season at St. Paul’s High School where he recorded a no-hitter as a freshman … played summer baseball with the Bill Hood Broncos, posting a 3-1 record with a 0.65 earned run average in 15 innings on the mound.

Personal: Born in Metairie, La. … the son of Wayne and Kerry Catalano … older brother, Chad, earned two letters in baseball at Southeastern from 2005-06 … a General Studies major.
