Biography

2008 (Junior): Led the 2008 Lions with eight wins, going 8-3 with a 3.11 ERA (19 ER/55.0 IP) despite making all 23 appearances in relief ... Posted a team-high six saves ... Struck out 39 batters and walked just 15 for a 2.6 K/BB ratio and a 6.38 K/9.0 IP mark ... Posted 13 scoreless outings and allowed one earned run or less 16 times ... Logged more than 1.0 IP of relief in 17 of 23 outings, going 8-2 with three saves and a 2.77 ERA (12 ER/39.0 IP) in those games ... Posted a career-high 6.2 innings of relief and earned the win in his season debut, holding Eastern Illinois to just one run on three hits and no walks while striking out three in an 8-5 Lion win on Feb. 24 ... Earned the win in his next outing with 3.0 innings of scoreless, hitless relief while striking four and walking just one in a 6-5 win over Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Feb. 29 ... Went 3-0 with two saves over his first seven appearances before taking his first loss of the season on March 21 against Northwestern State ... Went 5-2 with four saves in his final 15 appearances ... 2007 (Sophomore): Made 18 relief appearances for the 2007 Lions ... Went 2-1 and picked up two saves while posting a 3.91 ERA (8 ER/23.0 IP) ... Picked up the save in his Southeastern debut Feb. 16 against UT-Martin by allowing just one run on one hit over 3.0 IP ... Allowed one run on three hits while striking out three over 3.0 IP to pick up his first win of the season on March 13 at Southern Miss ... Picked up his second save by allowing no hits or runs while walking and striking out one over 2.2 IP vs. Stephen F. Austin on March 17 ... Improved to 2-0 by throwing 1.0 perfect innings of relief against Alcorn State on March 27 ... Held the opposition scoreless in 12 of 18 trips to the mound ... Posted a season high three strikeouts four times ... Did not allow a hit or run from March 17 through March 31, a span of four appearances and 8.0 IP.

Prior to Southeastern-

Junior College: Spent the 2006 season at Baton Rouge CC after transferring from Evangel University where he was named 2005 Rookie of the Year by virtue of a 6-1 record.

High School: Prepped at Chalmette HS and was a three-time All-District and All-Metro selection ... Was named to the Class 4A All-State squad and was 2004 District MVP ... Led the Owls to a 23-6 record and a District titlein 2004 ... A four-time All-District selection in football and helped Chalmette to a pair of district championships.

Personal: Father played football and baseball at Evangel University ... Has one brother and one sister ... Majoring in Secondary Education.
