Joined the team as a walk-on and played valuable minutes in Southeastern’s run to the Southland Conference Tournament…gained strength and confidence in the off-season…smart player who knows the game and knows his role in helping the team win.

2008-09 (Freshman Season)
Appeared in 13 games for the Lions averaging 0.5 points per contest…gained the majority of his minutes in contests against Stephen F. Austin, Central Arkansas and Northwestern State…sank a 3-pointer for his first collegiate points in win over Southern-New Orleans…added two points in wins over UCA and Northwestern State…played a season-high nine minutes, adding two assists, in the regular-season finale against Northwestern State…grabbed three rebounds in eight minutes of action at SFA…played six minutes in Southland road contest at Texas State.

HIGH SCHOOL
A three-year letterwinner in basketball at Hammond's St. Thomas Aquinas High School...helped the Falcons to back-to-back Class 2A state championships (2007, 2008)...named second-team All-District as a senior.

Born April 6, 1990 in Covington, La....the son of Bobby and Denise Burches...older brother, Willie, played basketball at Alabama-Huntsville...selected Southeastern over Centenary, Northwestern State and Mobile...lists his brother as his biggest influence...majoring in accounting.
