2015 Southland Conference Academic Honor Roll

2015 (Junior): Started 43 of the 50 games in which appeared … hit .270 with six doubles, three triples one home run and 17 RBIs … scored a conference-leading 49 runs … second on the team in triples, walks (26), stolen bases (17) and steal attempts (20) … hit .553 (21-for-38) leading off an inning and .636 (7-for-11) with a runner at third base and less than two outs … put together a 7-game hitting streak (2/14 – 2/27) during which he hit .357 (10-for-28) … turned in nine multi-hit games, including a pair of 3-hit performances against McNeese State (4/19) and New Orleans (5/14) … compiled four multi-RBI games … knocked a walk-off home run in extra innings against McNeese (4/17) … scored a season-high four runs and stole a season-high three bases against Central Arkansas (5/10).

Junior College: A three-time draftee, drafted by the Chicago White Sox (2014, 40th round), Minnesota Twins (2013, 37th round), and Baltimore Orioles (2012, 21st round) … All-Conference selection at Howard Community College after hitting .375 with 18 doubles, seven triples, five home runs and 49 RBIs .. he scored 51 runs, in 53 games, and picked up 14 stolen bases … played in six games as a freshman at Northeast Texas Community College.

High School: Earned pair of varsity letters in baseball at Sinclair Secondary School in Whitby, Ontario … named captain as a junior ... Most Outstanding Athlete and MVP selection as a senior … captained the baseball, soccer and volleyball teams … participated in Heart & Stroke fundraiser, canned food drives and the Cancer Run … three-time member of the honor roll.

Personal: Born in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada … son to Egbert and Marianne Service … has four older brothers: Rohan, Quado, Tyrone, and Trevor … Rohan played soccer at the University of Western Ontario … Quado played basketball at Durham College … enjoys video games, relaxing with friends, fishing and going to the beach … majoring in general studies.
