2017 (Junior):
Southland Conference Player of the Year … ABCA All-Region, All-Conference, All-Louisiana and Southland All-Academic performer … started all 59 games … hit .332 with 15 doubles, four triples and a conference-leading 16 home runs … scored 56 runs and drove in another 72 … finished eighth nationally in RBI … stole 17 bases (20 attempts) … drew 43 walks, seven HBP and struck out 56 times … recorded a Southland-high .668 slugging percentage and a .453 on-base percentage … hit .667 (6-for-9) with the bases-loaded … turned in 19 multi-hit performances, including hitting for the cycle against nationally ranked UL Lafayette … drove in multiple runs on 21 occasions … smacked a pair of walk-off home runs in extra inning contests against West Virginia and UL Lafayette … homered in all four games Southeastern played at LSU’s Alex Box Stadium … produced a 9-game hitting streak (3/8-22) and a 17-game reached-base streak (3/3-31) … carries a 6-game hitting streak into the 2018 season … led the team in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, runs scored, hits, RBI, doubles, triples, home runs and total bases … named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2016 (Sophomore): Appeared in 38 games, starting 33 … hit .278 with seven doubles, two triples and one home run … drove in 20 runs and scored another 24 … produced eight multi-hit and four multi-RBI performances … first career home run was a grand slam at Abilene Christian (March 20) that sparked the Lions’ 6-run rally in the ninth inning for a dramatic, 9-7 comeback win that extended Southeastern’s win streak to eight games … hit .467 (14-for-30) leading off an inning, .714 (10-for-14) with a runner at third and less than two outs, and 1.000 (3-for-3) with the bases loaded … named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2015 (Freshman): Appeared in 11 games, starting three … hit .125 (2-for-16) with one RBI … successful in only steal attempt … singled in first collegiate plate appearance at Jackson State (2/17), driving in a run and later scoring … started games against Houston Baptist (2/21) and New Orleans (DH 5/16).  

High School: Earned three varsity letters in baseball at Holy Cross Catholic High School … played in the Connie Mack World Series ... named team captain and All-District player in the Catholic league after hitting .350 with a pair of home runs and 30 RBIs as a senior.

Personal: Born in Slidell, Louisiana … son to Scott and Susan Schwaner … father played on UNO’s 1984 College World Series team … has an older brother and sister, Nick and Tara … brother Nick played baseball at UNO and was drafted twice, once each by the San Francisco Giants and Tampa Bay Rays (signed) … great uncle, Tom, was the UNO head coach from 1986-1999 … enjoys golfing … majoring in general studies.
