2013-14 (Junior): Team captain played in all 30 games, starting nine … averaged 27.2 minutes, 12.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists … led the team in scoring (368 points), field goal attempts (305), three-pointers made (52) and attempted (149), free throws made (82) and steals (21) … tied for team lead in field goals made (117) … led squad in scoring eight times, including team season-high 29 points against Spring Hill … scored 20-plus points six times, including in three-consecutive Southland Conference games from Jan. 11-18 … had 20 point games against Rice (22), Spring Hill (29), Abilene Christian (20) Sam Houston State (26), Lamar (25) and New Orleans (23) … team went 4-2 in games he scored 20 points or more … poured in double-digit points in 17 contests, including nine straight from Jan. 4-Feb. 6 … hauled in a season-high seven rebounds at North Texas (11/30) to lead the squad … handed out multiple assists against Missouri (4), Western Illinois (3), Nicholls State (3), Houston Baptist (2), New Orleans (2), Central Arkansas (2) and Sam Houston State (4) … recorded multiple steals against Champion Baptist (2), Western Illinois (2), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (2) and Lamar (2).   

2012-13 (at Mississippi Gulf Coast CC): Averaged 17.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, starting all 25 games ... first team All-Region as well as All-Conference ... helped lead MGCC to a semifinal berth in the MJCJC state tournament … shot 40 percent from behind the three-point line and 82 percent from the charity stripe. 

2011-12 (at Alcorn State): Originally signed with Alcorn State after high school ... averaged 5.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game as a freshman … appeared in 26 contests, starting one, and averaged 18.2 minutes played … finished second on the team with 79 three-point attempts … led the team in scoring against Blue Mountain (17 points, 11/12/11), at Tulane (12 points, 11/25/11) and at Mississippi Valley State (15 points, 1/14/12) … handed out a pair of assists at Southern Miss … hauled in four rebounds against Alabama A&M … blocked shots against Point, Rust and Grambling State.

High School: At Wingfield HS averaged 11.1 points and 0.8 assists per game in 29 games played…awarded best offensive player ... all-district and all-metro performer.

Personal: Born JaMichael Leavon Hawkins … nickname is J-Work ... son of Michael and Sheila Hawkins … has an older sister, Chaquita, and a younger brother, Justin ... relatives Corey (Coahoma) and Travis Grayson (Clark) played collegiate football ... enjoys playing video games, shopping and working out in his spare time … majoring in general studies.
