Biography

2010 (Junior): Posted an 8-4 record with a 4.10 earned run average … led the pitching staff with 14 starts … tied for the team lead in wins (8) and innings pitched (90.0) … victorious in each of his first five starts …struck out seven batters over six innings of work for victory at Mississippi State … allowed just two earned runs over 21.2 innings pitched in consecutive starts against Texas Southern, UTSA and McNeese State … allowed one earned run in picking up a complete game victory against Texas State.

2009 (Sophomore): Posted a 5-5 record with a 5.07 earned run average … led the Lions with 68 strikeouts on the season and was second in innings pitched (87.0) … finished sixth in the Southland Conference in both strikeouts and innings pitched … scattered 10 hits and fanned nine in winning his season debut against Eastern Illinois … fanned seven batters and allowed one run in 7.1 innings against Central Arkansas … pitched 7.2 innings of scoreless ball in a 1-0 win over UT Arlington … scattered six hits and fanned five in a victory against Nicholls State … allowed five hits and two earned runs in a win against McNeese State.

2008 (Freshman): Went 3-3 with an 8.10 ERA over 10 appearances (six starts) in his first collegiate season ... threw two innings of scoreless relief in his college debut, holding Eastern Illinois to just a pair of hits while striking out three in a Lions' win ... earned the win in his first college start against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi by limiting the Islanders to three runs on six hits and four walks while striking out four ... earned with by holding Mississippi Valley State to just two hits and two walks while striking out five over four scoreless innings ... won consecutive starts for the first time in his college career by throwing a season-best seven innings and allowing just two earned runs on six hits to Alcorn State ... his 13 strikeouts against Alcorn State was the highest single-game total by any 2008 Lion ... struck out 31 and walked 18.

High School: Selected by the New York Mets in the 17th Round (543rd overall) of the 2007 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft ... lettered all four years at Zachary High School ... posted a 10-2 record with a 0.88 ERA and 98 strikeouts in 2007 ... helped coach Jesse Cassard's Broncos to the 2007 Class 4A State Championship by allowing four hits in four innings in an 11-1 win in the semifinals ... named First-Team All-District, All-State and was a First-Team High School All-American in his senior year at ZHS.
