Took part in nine meets during the season, competing in the shot put, discus throw, and weight throw... Best toss in the weight throw was 14.32 meters (46'11.75") at the Vulcan Invitational indoor meet, hosted by Alabama-Birmingham... Top distance in the discus throw was at the Strawberry Relays where he had a toss of 47.53 meters (155'11")... Best toss in shot put was 16.32 meters (53'6.5") at the SLC Outdoor Championships... Was a point scorer for the Lions in the team competition for his finish in the shot put at the SLC Outdoor Championships... Named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll.
Freshman Season (2024):
Made collegiate debut at Samford's Bulldog Invitational indoor meet in the shot put with a throw of 13.22 meters (43'4.5")... His collegiate debut in the weight toss was also his best showing in the discipline on the season, throwing the weight 11.98 meters (39'3.75") at the LSU Twilight indoor meet... Best showing in the shot put came at the Southern Mississippi Invitational with a toss of 14.94 meters (49'0.25")... Longest toss in the discus throw came at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships with a distance of 42.80 meters (140'5")... Named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll.
Prior to Southeastern:
Prepped at Denham Springs High School... Played football & was on the track & field team for the Yellow Jackets... Was a two-time All-District offensive lineman... Was also All-District on the defensive line.
Personal:
Born February 8, 2005 in Baton Rouge... Son of Ray & Jennifer Gibson... Has two older sisters, Paige Nordan & Maggie Gibson... Likes to hunt, fish, & golf... Most exciting athletic event he's seen was watching Ryan Crouser break the shot put world record... Majors in engineering technology at SLU.
