Freshman Season (2024):
Competed in 10 meets in his first season in the green & gold... Made his SLU debut by running the 800-meter run & taking part in the 4x400-meter relay at the LSU Purple Tiger indoor meet... Quickest time in the one-mile run came at the LSU Twilight indoor meet, finishing in 4:50.07... Fastest run in the 3,000-meter competition happened at the Southland Conference Indoor Championships, stopping the clock in 10:01.65... Took part in his only 600-meter run of the year at the Keyth Talley Invitational at LSU, crossing the line in 1:29.61... Best time in the 800-meter run came at the SLC Outdoor Championships, stopping the clock at 1:56.72... Ran a second 4x400-meter relay at the Strawberry Relays... Named to the Southland Conference Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll.

Prepped at Destrehan High School... Was on the track & field & cross country teams for the Wildcats... Also was a member of the St. Charles Striders AAU track & field club.

Born April 20, 2005 in Kenner, La. as Edwin Portillo... Son of Edwin & Brandy Portillo... Goes by the name "Manny"... Has four siblings - Don, Korey, Avah, & Alanah... Enjoys photography, weightlifting, & being with frmily & friends... Most exciting athletic event he's seen was the 2016 NBA Finals... Majors in health sciences at SLU.
