HAMMOND, La. – The Southeastern Louisiana University women's soccer team will continue its three-match road stretch against Southern and South Alabama in its 2026 non conference schedule.
SLU (3-1-1) will travel to Baton Rouge, La. to open the week against the Southern Jaguars (1-2) Thursday at 7 p.m. at the A.W. Mumford Stadium before its trek to Mobile, Ala. Sunday at 6 p.m. versus South Alabama (1-3-1). Live stats for both matches, provided by the hosts, can be accessed on the women's soccer schedule page at www.LionSports.net. Sunday's contest against South Alabama will be streamed on ESPN+.
Southeastern closed out week three of the season with a solid 2-2 tie against Southern Miss on the road. Kaitlyn Tung and Shae Kuntz stepped up and connected in the net for the Lions as Charlotte Lewis dished out two assists. With the draw against the Golden Eagles, the green and gold maintain its hot start in non conference play with a three-match winning streak.
Southern ended last week 1-1 with a 4-0 loss against Southern Methodist before gaining its first win of the season over Spring Hill at home, 3-1. Keilyn Pittman recorded two goals in the match alongside Jamila Omardin with one goal to extend the Jaguars win. The Jaguars posted 13 shots, seven shots on goal with three assists so far this season while Sydney Whitten has handled the majority of the responsibilities in the net with 11 saves.
South Alabama finished the previous week 0-1-1 with a 1-1 tie against Samford before falling 3-0 versus SEC opponent Alabama. Sophomore Andrea Lazar connected in the net for South Alabama in its draw versus Samford, the Jaguars are led by Lazar and senior Aliya Gomes tied with two goals. Freshman Julia Dirom has also connected in the net for South Alabama this season helping the squad to post 32 shots, 15 shots on goal and 16 corner kicks.
Concluding Sunday's match, Southeastern will return to Strawberry Stadium to host West Florida Sept. 11 at 5 p.m. Sunday's match against West Florida will be streamed on ESPN+. Fans are encouraged to Pack The Berry to support the team as students will receive free food while supplies last.
